This tutorial is so easy that I got ahead of myself and had it made before even taking these step-by-step photos, so I actually had to take it apart and make it again for you. No kidding - it's really that quick and easy. If you have a sad little cat and need a toy to share with him immediately, then this is the tutorial for you! Here's what you'll need:
Twine or string
Stick or thick dowel
Feather or ribbon
Optional tools: knife, hot glue gun & glue.
Let's get started! To hold your string in place, cut a notch into one end of your dowel. You can skip this step if you're not too worried about it slipping off, or if you just don't have a knife on hand at the moment.
Tie your twine around your dowel and secure it by slipping it into the notch.
Tie the other end of your string to the feather, leaving enough length to add your bell.
Finally, tie the tail end of the string to your bell.
And you're done! If you're worried about your knots loosening or the feather slipping out, you can secure them with a dab of hot glue. I was, of course, too ready to play with the kitties to even bother gluing them. Our kitten wasn't super interested in it until we removed the feather, but our older cat can't catch it unless the feather's attached, so be sure to play with different combinations and see what your kitty likes!
